Adding to its ever-growing pile of honours for The Reserve, Higgins Homes has been awarded two accolades at the London Evening Standard Awards held on Friday 17 May at The Dorchester Hotel, London.

The awards are among the most coveted in the country and gives developers and architects the chance to showcase homes and achieve recognition from industry experts and buying public.

The Reserve was the winner in the Best Out Of London Home and highly commended in the Best Family Home up to £750,000. Both categories were for developers that develop more than 200 units a year. The scheme in Waltham Cross is a development of contemporary three-, four- and five-bedroom houses on the boundary of the scenic Lee Valley Regional Park, abundant with nature reserves and peaceful urban space.

The awards are judged by a panel of independent property experts including Janice Morley, editor of Homes & Property; Dan Hopwood, former president of the British Institute of Interior Design, award-winning design writer Barbara Chandler, journalist and author of Mad About The House Kate Watson-Smyth; Marianne Shillingford, the creative director of Dulux; Thomas Sanderson product manager Laura O’Connell; and interior designer and TV presenter Sophie Robinson. Joining them are a number of Evening Standard readers.

“These awards are among the most elite in the UK and we are delighted to have been recognised twice for The Reserve,” says Jeremy Marcus, Sales & Marketing Director at Higgins Homes. “It was always our intention to create a development that would meet the demands of today’s buyers. A picturesque location that offers excellent commuter links to the capital, a development that combines sustainability with cutting-edge design and a scheme that creates a sense of community.”

The Reserve has already been awarded a Highly Commended in the Design Excellence category at the Hertfordshire Building Futures Awards as well as the Best Architectural Design at the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards.

Throughout the judging process, Higgins Homes has been commended for creating a stunning environment for residents and the wider community to enjoy with features such as wetland areas including ponds and swales. Special praise was given to Higgins Homes for building a sustainable urban drainage system to encourage biodiversity and to help wildlife to flourish.

“We are delighted that once again The Reserve has been praised as an exemplar development of new housing,” adds Jeremy Marcus. “Our architects and builders have shown that the combination of sustainability, innovation and high-quality construction will create a development where buyers want to live. By embracing the stunning location and building with the needs of the modern buyer firmly in mind, we have created a development that has far-reaching appeal.”

The Reserve is the perfect combination of idyllic countryside on the doorstep with excellent commutability into the capital. The development is less than a ten-minute walk from Waltham Cross rail station, which is in Zone 7, and only a 26-minute train trip to Liverpool Street and just 21-minutes to Stratford, allowing buyers the best of both worlds.
